Welcome to Uncle Vinny’s Car Blog
I hope to share with you my accumulated knowledge of car care.  But even more important, I hope to enhance your love of cars and trucks through my passion and to share ideas, thoughts, and experiences in my life with my personal vehicles.

So I guess a small introduction of who I am is only fair.  I am a middle aged, married with children professional who, as Barry Meguiar coined, is “Car Crazy”.  I live in a suburban area of Morris County, New Jersey where nice cars are abundant. Ferraris, Porsches, BMW’s and Aston Martins are frequent sightings.  The closest I have come to owning an exotic vehicle was a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S and a 2003 Audi RS6.  My current garage stable is full of high performance vehicles totaling north of 1400 horsepower!

The oldest vehicle is the pinnacle of performance, a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.  This bright yellow 505 HP “race car in disguise” is raw passion at its best. It has make you giggle acceleration, go cart type steering and handling, and lots of “look at me“ looks.  The Z06 seems to be going 150 mph even when it’s securely parked!

The “family vehicle” is nothing short of a perfect blend of everything.  Our 2008 BMW X5 is beautiful to look at, luxurious, fast (its 4.8L V8 is mean) and handling that belies its size.  Utility and unstoppable in the snow makes it really easy to live with…and looking good while doing it!

Last, but certainly not least, is my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8.  Are you starting to see a trend in vehicles?  Yep…it’s got a Hemi.  This jeep sports a 6.1L Hemi, second in size and power to the 8L that lives in the Viper SRT-10(and its awesome 600 HP). The Jeep “merely” has 420 HP and “merely” accelerates its over 2 ton package to sixty in less than 5 seconds.  No, of course I bought it because it has utility and a 5 star crash rating (wink, wink!).  It’s a sleeper for sure.  Many true sports cars have been abused and embarrassed by the way this vehicle can move and handle.

So again welcome to the blog.  I hope to share with you whatever I can and encourage you to write in with ideas or suggestions on topics.  I will discuss detailing techniques, and car care products as well as some interesting automotive ideas.  In my next blog, I will attempt to “define” what makes a Car Guy and what does not.  I’m sure that if you’ve made it this far, I can assure you that you are the former!!!

Be safe out there!!!
